Centre for Labour Law & Research

“Labour rights are central to social justice and constitutional governance. As workers continue to contribute significantly to economic growth, it is essential to promote awareness of their legal protections, welfare measures, and workplace rights.

The Centre for Labour Law and Research (CLLR), NUSRL aims to advance research, awareness, and dialogue in labour law through initiatives such as mediation camps, legal awareness programmes, and the podcast series “Shram Chetna.” The Centre seeks to bridge the gap between legal frameworks and grassroots realities while promoting legal empowerment and access to justice.

I appreciate the efforts of the students, volunteers, and stakeholders associated with the Centre and hope it continues to contribute meaningfully towards labour welfare, legal literacy, and social transformation.”

“The Centre for Labour Law and Research (CLLR), NUSRL was established to promote awareness and engagement around labour rights, workplace justice, and social security. Labour law directly impacts the dignity and livelihoods of millions of workers across organised and unorganised sectors.

Through initiatives such as legal awareness camps, mediation programmes, and the podcast series “Shram Chetna,” the Centre aims to make discussions on labour rights more accessible and meaningful. As employment structures evolve with technology and the gig economy, it is essential to ensure that workers’ rights remain relevant and inclusive.

I appreciate the dedication of everyone associated with the Centre and hope it continues to contribute towards labour awareness, research, and social justice.”
