Under Project Nyaay Setu, a Mediation Camp was organised on 14/05/2026 at the Block Office, Kanke, with the objective of addressing disputes and grievances at the pre-litigation stage through dialogue, counselling, and community-based dispute resolution mechanisms. The camp aimed to provide an accessible platform for vulnerable individuals and families to seek assistance regarding social, labour-related, and civil disputes before escalation into formal legal proceedings. The intervention also focused on spreading awareness regarding legal rights, government welfare schemes, and institutional support systems available to marginalised communities. The camp witnessed participation from local residents, affected families, community members, and stakeholders who approached the mediation team with various grievances and concerns. During the proceedings, several pre-litigation disputes were identified and discussed with the objective of facilitating amicable settlement and timely intervention. Along with matters relating to bonded labour and child labour, the team also received grievances concerning widow pension schemes, pension-related delays and irregularities, and other issues arising out of economic and social vulnerability. The mediation process enabled parties to openly discuss their concerns and seek guidance regarding appropriate legal and administrative remedies.Awareness was also generated regarding labour rights, protection against exploitation, child welfare, access to social security schemes, and the importance of resolving disputes through peaceful and participatory methods. Community members were informed about available grievance redressal mechanisms, rehabilitation support, and the role of mediation in ensuring quicker and more accessible justice delivery. The camp created a supportive environment where individuals felt encouraged to share their issues without fear or hesitation. The intervention further strengthened trust between the community and the Project Nyaay Setu team by promoting legal awareness, social inclusion, and access to justice at the grassroots level. Several participants expressed willingness to pursue mediation and institutional support for resolution of their grievances. The Mediation Camp concluded with a collective commitment towards strengthening community participation, protecting vulnerable individuals from exploitation, and promoting peaceful resolution of disputes through dialogue and legal awareness initiatives.
